The original structure of Stony Point North Elementary School was completed in 1958, consisting of seven classrooms, one set of restrooms, a cafeteria and a basement broiler room.
In 1961, the first addition was completed with seven classrooms, an office, one set of restrooms and a health room.
The second addition was finished in 1964, consisting of twelve classrooms, a music room, a multi-purpose room, a new kitchen, a new office, a health room suite, and one set of restrooms. The old office was converted into a teacher's lounge and workroom; the old cafeteria was converted into two of the 12 classrooms and a library.

1964: Addition of classrooms, multi-purpose room
1967: In January, Stony Point North (part of USD 201) became attached to the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (USD 500).
2001: Voters approved a proposed $120 million bond issue at the Municipal Election Tuesday (April 3, 2001) to air-condition schools, improve technology, and make other upgrades to schools and public libraries. Stony Point North was part of Phase I, which was completed in the summer of 2001.
